Daniel Sheflin is a distinguished American engineer and technology executive with a career in mechanical and control engineering that has spanned over four decades. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and metallurgy from the University at Buffalo in 1978 and later earned a master’s degree in control engineering with a focus on tribology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Daniel Sheflin's career has included technical and leadership roles in both the transportation and industrial automation sectors.
Mr. Sheflin has worked in senior engineering positions at companies such as General Electric and Honeywell. At General Electric, he served as general manager of engineering for the locomotive division, overseeing large-scale engineering operations. From 2001 to 2015, he was vice president of technology for Honeywell’s automation and control solutions unit, where he managed global research and development efforts. His responsibilities included leading product development teams and driving improvements in time to market and product reliability.
Outside of his engineering work, Mr. Sheflin supports a range of nonprofit and educational causes, including church- and youth-focused organizations. He has been involved in initiatives like FIRST Robotics and the Make-a-Wish Foundation. In his free time, he enjoys cycling, cooking, and following professional sports, particularly the Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Vikings, and NASCAR events like the Daytona 500.
